2010 Acura RDX - Click above for image gallery Last week, we showed you a few photos of what looked to be the 2010 Acura RDX that had begun floating around the interwebs. A subsequent call to Acura confirmed that they were, in fact, the real deal. Now, without any fanfare, the updated compact crossover has appeared on the company's website, complete with specification changes and pricing. As shown earlier, the RDX is indeed on the receiving end of the corporate shield grille rhinoplasty, and also gets new fog lamps and air inlets. The rear end has been cleaned up as well, with new hexagonal exhaust inlets with stylized cutouts and a mesh insert in the fascia's lower reaches. The big news for 2010 is the availability of a front-drive version, which helps shed weight and parasitic drag to increase fuel economy. At an EPA estimated 19 miles-per-gallon city and 24 highway, the RDX still strikes us as behind the curve, but perhaps not as much as the (unchanged) 17/22 figures of the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) version. Predictably, this least-complex RDX is also the cheapest, ringing up at $32,520 plus delivery. If you do want the foul-weather security of all-wheel drive, you'll have to pay a minimum of $34,520. Plump for the technology package (which includes traffic- and weather-linked sat-nav, premium Acura/ELS surround sound, and so on), you're looking at $35,620 in front-drive guise, and $37,620 for all-wheel drive. We see no mention of streaming audio as hinted at earlier, but Bluetooth telephony is still part of the mix. Further, a rearview camera will come standard, even if one doesn't pony up for the Technology pack with navigation. No matter which model you choose, the RDX continues to be motivated by the same turbocharged, intercooled 2.3-liter four-cylinder, giving 240 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. We'll keep our eyes peeled for an official press release and a full complement of high-res images, but for now, enjoy our screencap'd gallery below. Thanks for the tip, Trevor!

Even though it's been going on for more than two years now, the tale of the Acura NSX is like a news story that just broke: you have to keep checking back for details, and each subsequent update could turn the whole story on its head. The V10 NSX that was going to own the sports car gods on Mt. Olympus was killed, and a rumored newly resurrected NSX is said to be a V6 hybrid that will challenge Toyota's own will-they/won't-they FT-HS/Supra. Whereas Toyota's entry is reported to put out 400 horsepower to the rear wheels, the NSX will reportedly get about 450 horses going to all four wheels via Acura's SH-AWD system. Dubbed the "Super Hybrid Sports," sources claim it will be built on the same steel platform as the next generation Acura RL. While this speculation sounds like an interesting car - at least, until the next update comes along - it is a redefinition of what NSX means to us and could take a while to get used to. And if Acura is truly intent on becoming a top shelf luxury maker, we can't help but find it a bit quizzical that they're taking their flagship sports car brand downmarket to compete with a Toyota Supra.

2009 Acura TL - Click above for high-res image gallery Honda Motor Co.'s new president, Takanubo Ito, has said in no uncertain terms that V8 power and rear-wheel drive motivation aren't in the automaker's future. Ito, who took the reigns from Takeo Fukui last month, said during his first press conference, "I don't think we need a classic front-engine, rear-drive car. It would be meaningless to emulate what other companies have done for more than five decades." Honda's new president went on to say that, "We are considering incorporating new engines, motors, transmissions and chassis into mid- to large-sized hybrid vehicles," and confirmed that his predecessor's plan to create a V8 and a new rear-wheel drive architecture have been killed after Honda reassessed its priorities amidst the tanking economy. Instead, expect Honda's future premium offerings - primarily those from Acura - to adopt fuel-efficient inline-four and V6 engines, equipped with hybrid motors, and all-wheel drive.

2010 Acura ZDX - Click above for high-res image gallery After its conceptual debut at the New York Auto Show in April, the 2010 Acura ZDX officially joins the coupe-like crossover fray this winter. Acura has dropped a brief release and a trio of photos of the production variant, and like recent Honda and Acura concepts, the ZDX was nearly production ready when it debuted in NY. The only notable changes over the concept are the headlights, tail lamps and a few details in the lower front fascia. Under the hood, the ZDX gets the same 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 as in the RL and TL, paired up with Acura's first six-speed automatic transmission, along with torque vectoring Super Handling-All Wheel Drive as standard equipment. While the ZDX seems similar to the BMW X6, the production versions looks significantly more compact, making Acura's new swoppy crossover more of a competitor to BMW's new 5 Series GT. The ZDX should slot in nicely between the RDX and the larger MDX and appeal to those who like the dynamics of the TL in a slightly taller package. So far there has been no word from Acura on pricing, so expect all the details to be released when the ZDX goes on sale later this year. 2010 Acura RDX leaked images - Click above for gallery The first shots of what is allegedly Acura's pending 2010 RDX have hit the web, and unsurprisingly, the small performance crossover appears to have received the Japanese automaker's controversial corporate shield-shaped grille. Other changes to the restyled nose include dramatically reshaped fog lights, restyled bumper air inlets with matte black surround, and so on. Out back, from what we can see from the limited photographs shown here, hexagonal exhaust outlets have taken up residence (the old pipes were round), and there appears to be an aggressive new rear bumper fascia with a more stylized surround to the exhausts and a mesh insert. In addition to the tweaked front end, website SatoAuto reports that the upcoming RDX will also mark the availability of a new two-wheel drive version (front-drive, presumably) to give buyers a less costly, more fuel-efficient alternative to the current Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) model. The website says the new package features revised gearing and is expected to weigh about 200 pounds less than the grips-at-all-paws version - good news considering that package only manages 17 miles-per-gallon city and 22 on the highway in the 2009 model. Inside, new available features on the sporty crossover include USB iPod integration, Bluetooth audio, a revised backup camera with guide lines, ambient lighting, and so on. For buyers who don't opt for the navigation system, there's apparently a new stand-alone option for a reverse camera that displays what's behind the vehicle through the rearview mirror. Finally, those who do plump for the navigation system will get AcuraLink Real-Time weather, dynamic traffic routing, and an enhanced XM satellite radio. The rest of the 2010 RDX's drivetrain figures to be unchanged, SatoAuto says, so count on the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder returning with 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque as before. Check out the not-so-high-res gallery and then click on the link.

2010 Acura TSX V6 - Click above for high-res image gallery Acura has a good thing going in the luxury segment. Unlike Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi - but like Lexus - Acura's best selling car is not its entry-level model: Acura moves more TLs than anything else in its line-up. And unlike those other brands, Lexus included, all of Acura's offerings carry five-star safety ratings from NHTSA, are rated as top safety picks by the IIHS, and the Automotive Lease Guide has declared that Acura offerings have the best resale value among luxury brands. Now, Honda's premium division has grown by one with the addition of the TSX V6, and Autoblog was invited to find out if the new, more powerful sedan could keep the brand's good thing going. Follow the jump to find out. Photos Copyright (C)2009 Jonathon Ramsey / Weblogs, Inc. Continue reading First Drive: 2010 Acura TSX V6 offers more power, performance... more car

Rumor on two continents - Germany in Auto Motor und Sport and Japan in Holiday - has it that Acura is developing a sleek four-door to join the lexicologically questionable segment known as "four-door coupes." The various translations equate to a car built on the forthcoming ZDX crossover's architecture, with reports suggesting that the new model will slot in between the TSX and the TL. Longer than the TSX by a few inches, the coupe is expected to also be wider, lower, and have a longer wheelbase than the small sedan. Although one of the outlets mentioned a V8 and a FR layout, the consensus on a proposed engine is the 3.7-liter V6 paired up with Acura's SH-AWD and Motion Adaptive EPS. When might one expect to see this latter-day CL, if such a thing really does exist? Next year's Detroit Auto Show, with U.S. sales perhaps at the end of 2010. Hat tip to Nick!

2009 Acura TSX - Click above for a high-res image gallery The late eighties is when it all happened for Japanese luxury vehicles in North America. But by the time Lexus and Infiniti launched in 1989, Acura was already on the market for three years. Since then, Acura customers in the U.S. looking to finance new cars went through the same American Honda Finance Corporation that bankrolls the purchases of new Honda cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, lawnmowers, outboard marine engines and everything else the Japanese industrial giant builds (to the possible exception of corporate jets and robots), not to mention the establishment of new dealerships and all that entails. That's all about the change with American Honda Motor Co.'s announcement of the launch of Acura Financial Services, a new financing arm for the company's luxury division that will handle the purchases of new Acuras. The move is part of an effort to distance Acura from the more commonplace offerings of its parent company, and to give the division its own look and feel. A strange time to launch a new financial company, but we'll see how it works out. Details in the press release after the jump. Continue reading Honda gives Acura its own financial arm
